The crumbling late nineteenth century sandstone façade was measured, recut and rebuilt with the more durable Wallace Stone from Nova Scotia, Canada. The deteriorated sandstone skin was ground off the building envelope. The building was then sealed with an air vapour barrier, a new tie system, new footings, and spray-on insulation. The new stone facade precisely imitates the previous one.
